Lax Camp

(Vocus/PRWEB) February 18, 2011

Summer lacrosse camps leader GameBreaker Lacrosse has published their 2011 summer lacrosse camp schedule. Over 5,000 lacrosse players attend these camps annually to get better, make friends, and have fun. Overnight and day lacrosse camps are offered.

The GameBreaker Lacrosse Camps have a unique balance between instruction and scrimmages at their camps, providing campers with the opportunity to learn new skills while also gaining game-time experience. Cornell University Head Coach Jeff Tambroni, the 2009 Field Turf / NCAA Division I Coach of the Year and GameBreaker Director for the Miami Lacrosse Camp, says “summer lacrosse camp provides a great opportunity to improve a player’s individual skills in a learning environment that is both fun and challenging.”

Lacrosse is the fastest growing team sport in the country with over 300,000 youth players and 225,000 high school players, according to US Lacrosse. Many coaches appreciate the role that camp plays in the development of team members. “Teams are developed in the season, while players are developed in the summer,” according to Chris Bulger, the President of GameBreaker Lacrosse Camps. This year, over 100,000 players will attend a summer lacrosse camp for boys or girls.

As the sport of lacrosse has grown, GameBreaker has expanded geographically to accommodate for new players in emerging lacrosse states. “Lacrosse is not longer just an east coast sport,” comments Taylor Nissi, GameBreaker’s Marketing Coordinator. “The national growth of lacrosse has been staggering and we are responding to coaches in these new areas who are in search of the expert coaching that we provide.”

Interested prospective campers can learn more about the GameBreaker Advantage and view the 2011 lacrosse camps schedule at http://www.LaxCamps.com.

GameBreaker Lacrosse is a division of eCamps, Inc. eCamps is a nationally recognized provider of summer sports camps. Other camps include the adidas Tennis Camps, Revolution Field Hockey Camps, and the International Squash Academy.

The Canadian e-Tourism Council, a national forum of Canadian tourism marketing executives specializing in online communications, and chaired by Rick Gaunt of Manitoba, is pleased to announce the 2nd Canadian e-Tourism Awards, an innovative awards program that recognizes individual travelers and tourism businesses for excellence in online communication supporting travel to Canada.

We want to salute the most intriguing and exciting moments of travelers’ vacations and explorations in Canada.

Registration for the Canadian e-Tourism Awards is now open to individuals and businesses in a host of categories who feature, market or sell a Canadian destination, product, attraction or experience. Award criteria and applications are now available online at http://www.canadianetourismawards.com. The website was designed and is hosted by T4G Limited and will feature online nominations and voting by individuals and businesses online. Entries will be accepted for the tourism marketing awards until midnight EDT, January 30th, 2011.

Unlike other tourism awards programs, nominations are free of charge and consumers can nominate and vote on all entries.

The judging will be done by the Canadian e-Tourism Council.

New Walking Food Tour Offered for the 2011 Season

New Walking Food Tour Offered for the 2011 Season

Lexington, Kentucky (Vocus/PRWEB) April 06, 2011

Bleu Plate Tours started in August, 2010, with one Downtown Lexington Walking Food Tour. But they are beginning the 2011 season with a new, additional tour – the Jefferson Street Walking Food Tour.

“Jefferson Street has some unique restaurants and entertainment options,” stated Laura Mize, Tour Operator/Owner. “I was determined to figure out a way to incorporate Jefferson Street into my tours, particularly because I think it is one of the ‘hidden gems’ of Lexington.” She continued by saying that her tour guests expect to get the ‘inside track’ on where the locals go, and Jefferson Street is likely not an area visitors would stumble upon themselves.

The Jefferson Street tour is offered on Sundays at 2 p.m. and is new in addition to the existing Downtown Lexington tour which are offered on Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. While the Jefferson Street tour does cover some of the same area and restaurants that the Downtown Lexington tour visits, the majority of stops are in the Jefferson Street area.

“I am happy to have two tours with differing routes now,” stated Mize, “because that provides an opportunity for tour guests to attend both tours and get exposed to even more of the wonderful culinary offerings and rich culture we have here in Lexington.”

Bleu Plate Tours operate seasonally from April through October. Advanced tickets are required. Tour information and a link to ticket information and sales can be found on the website or by calling ticketing and information agent, Zerve, at 800-979-3370.

Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) March 12, 2011

Have you wondered what the post recession “New Normal” for tourism is going to finally look like? Trips get shorter and shorter, booking windows closer and closer. The consumer is downsizing lodging choices, eating in-room, gas prices are volatile as are air. To answer these questions top tourism and consumer researchers are meeting in Santa Fe March 17-19 2011.

“We are ALL searching for clues as to the character of the post recession consumer,” states Chris Cordova, Chair of the Travel & Tourism Research Association’s Greater Western Chapter (GWTTRA).

“ Are consumers going to return to their old ways?” he continues, “how is the shift from a credit to a debit lifestyle and replacing acquisition with agility going to affect tourism? Will the fact that 65% of Americans feel that since the recession they are happier with a simpler lifestyle create massive shifts in travel behavior?”

Leading academic researchers from top Universities across the Western United States combined with Executives from major research companies such as Smith Travel Research and TNS Global, and Strategic Marketing and Research Inc., will sit down with tourism practitioners from Destination Marketing Organizations, Hotel Companies, State Tourism Offices and Attractions to present, listen and discuss the emerging new post recession consumer.

“It is our goal” states Dr. Vinod Sasidharan, President of GWTTRA board of directors, “to produce from this conference a White Paper on the New Normal for tourism.”

The conference is open to interested public participants. Registration and costs are on the Web site: http://www.gwttra.com/symposiums.htm. No registrations at the door.

The conference will be attended by Monique Jacobson, Secretary of Tourism for New Mexico.
